As time flows by

From the very first minute of my professional life I was concerned with microreaction technology and I am happy to still do that. Nowadays chemists have added Flow Chemistry as the synthetic-mechanistic counterpart to this more engineering- and production-oriented research.

By thinking about flow reactors I realized that I got a bit older with flows – yet also “time flows by”. Isn’t life a continuous stream of emotions and events – both scientific- and private-wise? Even at one moment of passion and quietness, we as human beings like streaming. This impressed me so much in the landmark work of modern literature which is “Ulysses” (1922) from James Joyce. The Stream of Consciousness describes the continuous flow of sense-perceptions, thoughts, feelings, and memories in the human mind (as taken from Wikipedia).
