Detailed Analysis of C18:1cis/trans FAME Isomers Using a highly polar ionic liquid capillary column, SLB-IL111

Abstract

The extremely polar SLB-IL111 column exhibits the highest polarity of any GC phase, providing an alternativeselectivity for FAME applications typically performed on highly polar cyanopropyl siloxane columns. It is able to provideresolution of some key isomers that cannot be resolved on other columns. Its maximum temperature of 270°C is veryimpressive for such an extremely polar column. The applications shown in this article demonstrate the utility of the SLB-IL111as a complementary column choice for the analysis of FAMEs.
