Andrea is a Chartered Chemist and holds a PhD in Polymer & Colloid Chemistry, a MChem in Industrial & Applied Chemistry and a Diploma in Innovation Project Management.

Since 1998 he has been covering roles in R&D, Innovation and Formulation Technology in multinational companies such as Neal’s Yard Natural Remedies (UK), Oriflame (Ireland), Dow Corning (Belgium), Lamberti Chemical Specialties (Italy), Intercos (Italy) and 3M (Italy/USA).

He is currently Skincare Technical Manager at ORIFLAME Research & Development based in Ireland.

Andrea is Author and Co-Author of 45+ scientific communications (including articles, lectures, posters & patents) on various subjects of Cosmetic Science including anti-ageing, natural preservation, polymers, rheology, emulsion technology, formulation technology.

He often features as guest lecturer in Natural/Organic-certified technologies in cosmetic science at the London College of Fashion, Cosmetic Sciences.

He is a Member of the Scientific Committee of the British Society of Cosmetic Science (SCS), of the Editorial Advisory Board of the International Journal of Cosmetic Science and of the Scientific Advisory Board of H&PC Journal.

Andrea is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and a Member of the Board of Directors of the International Society for Phytocosmetic Science (ISPS).
Andrea’s specialties & research interests are mainly: Research, Development & Innovation; Formulation Chemistry; Cosmetic Chemistry; Polymer Chemistry & Colloid Chemistry; Raw Materials: Development, Characterisation, Optimisation and Application; Rheology & Colloid Science applied to Cosmetics & Personal Care (Raw Materials and Finished Products); Natural/Organic-certified technologies in cosmetic science; Design of Experiment and Design of Mixture; Technology Scouting; Identification, development and implementation of Intellectual Property opportunities, including articles, patents, creation of bespoke ingredients/technologies, partnerships with niche Suppliers.
