Vitafoods Europe 2017 will offer cutting edge content for everyone

HPC Today

Taking place from 9 to 11 May at Palexpo in Geneva, Vitafoods Europe 2017 is the essential event for anyone who wants to do business, learn, and network in the global nutraceutical industry. Over 18,500 visitors and over 1000 exhibitors are expected to attend, and the organisers have made a range of developments to the many attractions.

These include the New Products Zone and New Ingredients Zones, which will highlight the most exciting innovations from the past 12 months. The unique Vitafoods Launchpad will offer condensed presentations about the latest products and ingredients. The Springboard Pavilion will provide space to engage with entrepreneurs at the cutting edge of the nutrition sector.

The Life Stages Theatre will review the bespoke nutrient requirements needed throughout the stages of a person’s life, and the Probiotics Resource Centre, in association with the International Probiotics Association, will showcase the latest market trends in probiotics.

Events on the Vitafoods Centre Stage will include a debate on sports nutrition chaired by Dr Adam Carey of the European Specialist Sports Nutrition Alliance. There will also be panel discussions on other important issues in the industry, such as personalised nutrition. Companies including Capsugel and Rousselot will be presenting the latest technical information at the Exhibitor Presentation Theatre.

Visitors will be able to meet experts and sample the latest sports nutrition products in the Sports Nutrition Zone, and see innovative products from across the world in the International Pavilions. The Omega-3 Resource Centre, in association with GOED, will offer presentations on themes such as the evolution of Omega-3 science.

Vitafoods Education Programme

Based on feedback from last year, the educational component of the event will be separated into three distinct platforms to give delegates more flexibility to access content aligned with their particular areas of interest.

  • R&D Forums – For delegates seeking high-level technical knowledge, seven two-hour R&D Forums will showcase the latest in applied nutrition science. Each will be dedicated to particular ingredients – Omega-3s, plant sterols, polyphenols, vitamins, dietary fibres, proteins and ingredients from India. The Forums will be delivered by some of the world’s leading experts, including Professor Dr Clemens von Schacky of Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich who will explain “Why you want to have a high HS-Omega-3 Index”.
  • Business Workshops Presenting best practice for business growth, market access and streamlined supply chains, these half-day Business Workshops will focus on four key areas: ingredient registration and regulation; market insights and trends, marketing strategies; and botanicals. They will provide practical insights into topics such as new approaches to wellness in Western Europe, and how to a plan a successful path to market.  Speakers will include Professor Vittorio Silano, Professor, Medical School, II University of Rome, and Chairman of the EFSA Scientific Committee Working group on Botanicals.
  • Probiotics Summit – As consumer interest in probiotics grows, so does the pressure on industry to add to the ever-growing portfolio of probiotic health solutions. This full-day Summit, developed in partnership with the International Probiotics Association, will take place on the first day of the event. It will explore the current market and regulatory environment, as well as the latest developments in R&D within probiotics. Delegates will hear from former IPA EU Executive Director Carine Lambert, and Professor Michael Messora of the University of São Paulo.

So Vitafoods Europe 2017 will offer a variety of cutting-edge, high quality content, with something to meet everyone’s business needs.
