Global contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO), Sterling Pharma Solutions, has announced its acquisition of Alcami’s Germantown, Wisconsin facility in the US.
The new facility will further bolster Sterling’s US presence and will provide additional capacity for customer API development and manufacturing projects, specifically those with complex and hazardous requirements.
The Germantown facility houses state-of-the-art cGMP development, scale-up and manufacturing facilities and has specialist expertise in handling technologies including plant-scale hydrogenation and cryogenic reactions
The acquisition follows Sterling’s sustained growth over the past four years, which has seen the company invest $46million into its service offering, including a recent $1.5million investment into the company’s Cary facility in the US.

This announcement follows several expansion projects, including Alcami’s buildout of the sterile manufacturing site in Charleston, SC and the TriPharm acquisition completed in January 2020. Alcami is adding substantial sterile manufacturing and laboratory capacity with best-in-class facility and equipment design.
