On June 12, Syensqo officially inaugurated its new microbiology laboratory in Lyon, France, and H&PC Today was invited to participate, along with other press representatives.
We were pleased to attend the Belgian company event, which featured a guided lab tour, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and a welcome address. The speakers included: Jean-Francis Spindler – Lyon R&I Center Director, Thomas Canova – Head of Corporate R&I and Renewables Materials and Biotechnology Platform and Michael Radossich – Performance & Care Division President.
Following the company presentation, participants were introduced to the key features of the new 550 m2 site, its objectives, and promising developments. The facility aims to bring together research in toxicology, ecotoxicology, industrial microbiology, biodegradability, and biotechnology.
The main markets include Home and Personal Care and Agrochemical Formulation Ingredients. In addition to developing materials and products for these sectors, the Lyon hub offers biodegradation and application testing services. Through investments in automation and data management, the powerful tool of AI will be extensively leveraged.
Additionally, some ingredients were presented along with their potential applications and the key features which align with the company’s core values, such as biodegradability and biotechnological origin.
