Evonik Nutrition & Care GmbH
After graduating from the University of Bonn with a Master in Food Technology, Martin Schilling joined the Biochemical Engineering group at DECHEMA e.V. in Frankfurt and worked in the field of biotechnological production of flavours and fragrances. He obtained a Ph.D. from Technical University Munich for his thesis on enzymatic oxidative cleavage of carotenoids in 2008.
Subsequently, Martin joined Evonik Goldschmidt GmbH and headed a R&D group working on biotechnological ingredient production for consumer goods. His research focused on enzymatic and fermentative production of surfactants and lipids, their biochemistry and application. In 2016 he joined the Strategic Innovation Team of Evonik Nutrition & Care GmbH in Darmstadt, Germany. In this role, he helps to identify opportunities to innovate in the field of Advanced Food Ingredients and Cell Culture Ingredients by leveraging Evonik internal and external competencies through an open innovation approach.
Martin is coauthor of 20 scientific papers and patents.
