Barcelona, 14 April 2026 – Vitafoods Europe has unveiled the finalists for the 2026 Vitafoods Europe Innovation Awards, spotlighting the standout innovations driving progress across ingredients, finished products, and industry initiatives. Building on the momentum of a highly successful 2025 launch, this year’s awards celebrate the pioneering work and forward-thinking solutions shaping the future of the global nutraceutical industry.
Redefining the industry through rapid innovation
The 2026 awards attracted a strong response from Vitafoods Europe exhibitors and industry organisations – 25percent more entries compared to 2025 – with entries showcasing the latest innovations driving the sector forward. After careful evaluation by an independent panel of expert judges, a shortlist of 25 finalists has been selected across eight award categories, including two new additions for 2026 – Weight Management Ingredient and Nutricosmetic Ingredient. These new categories have been designed to reflect the emerging, fast-moving areas of innovation where cutting-edge science and rapidly evolving consumer trends are driving the next wave of nutraceutical solutions.
Speaking on this year’s shortlist, Prof. Colin Dennis, Chair of the Board of Trustees at IFIS Publishing, said: “The pace of change in nutraceutical innovation is staggering – entirely new categories are appearing almost overnight, driven by fast-moving science and new data-led insights. This exciting landscape is challenging the industry to rethink what a nutraceutical product can achieve, and the calibre of entries for this year’s Vitafoods Europe Innovation Awards is a real testament to the ingenuity of the companies leading the way. The breadth and quality of submissions highlight the remarkable creativity and scientific advancement in our industry. These finalists truly represent the best of what the industry has to offer, and we look forward to seeing their innovations brought to life in Barcelona.”
From shortlist to spotlight
Finalists will present their submissions live to the judging panel – chaired by Prof. Colin Dennis and comprising of leading, independent specialists in science, regulation, market insight and product development – in Barcelona on 4 May, before Vitafoods Europe officially opens. Winners will then be revealed during an exclusive awards ceremony on 5 May, where they will receive a trophy, a tailored Vitafoods Europe promotional package to enhance visibility both online and on-site, and a brand awareness webinar sponsorship package, provided by awards sponsor Smartcore.
