The Home Care market is moving to meet the growing demand for sustainability.

Sustainable cleaning is driving the consumers habits: when buying household products they seek to minimize their environmental footprint and look for solutions that help them reaching this goal.

 

Innospec continues to invest in new products and technologies that will help our customers meet their long-term sustainability objectives.

 

At Innospec, Sustainability is our focus and it is our responsibility to deliver sustainable, effective ingredients in the form of dry surfactants and concentrated blends.

Formulating those sustainable ingredients into creative trend-based prototypes is also something that we are proud to lead the way with.

 

Our R&D team designs new formulations around our extended portfolio of dried surfactants, ideal to create solid formula that cut down on single-use plastic usage and limit the water transportation as part of reducing our carbon footprint. Solid formats allow us to rethink packaging and explore waste-free solutions. Categories where liquid formats dominate, such as laundry detergents, toilet care and manual dishwashing products can be replaced by sustainable-solid alternatives. An additional benefit brought by such solid formats is that they allow our customers to design the unit dose in the format they like, creating new products with attractive aesthetics.

 

Refills are also a key opportunity in reducing excess packaging and waste and we develop solutions ideal for a broad range of applications from surface cleaning, to manual dishwashing and fabric care. These refills are both solid formats and liquid unit dose packed in water soluble film. Diluting the product at home means less water is being transported, fewer trucks on the road and less greenhouse gas emissions. The concentrated cleaners are more sustainable than traditional liquids and consumers are willing to adopt solutions that care about the environment.

 

We are aware of the importance of supplying naturally derived ingredients to our customers: with the rise in health and environmental concerns among consumers, there is an increasing interest in the ingredients’ composition of cleaning products with a preference for naturally derived source rather than synthetic compounds.

 

We meet this need by providing naturally derived options to most of our product portfolio.

 

We will keep developing specialties products, being focussed on efficiency. Starting from market needs and what is challenging for customers, we provide the best of our support and technical knowledge to meet their requirements and to be their partners within their next formulation.
