LipoTrue is constantly working to meet the needs of the cosmetic market. With the goal to develop innovative active ingredients that deliver the best results. That is why LipoTrue has ended the year with the launch of two novel actives, Timlog™ a plant-based protein targeting dermochronology and Echioseb™, a botanical active to regulate sebum and reduce pores.

Firstly, we have always been told that skin has memory just like trees. We know the history of a tree by the rings inside it, which not only record age but also every season and climatic experience. But do we know a person’s history from their skin? Just as trees need sunlight, skin does to, but an excess of it can lead premature aging that alters the skin’s dermochronology.

We want the years to go by but not be reflected in the skin. Therefore, LipoTrue has developed Timlog™, a plant-derived human TIMP-2 (tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases) produced in Wild Plants as a Biofactory Technology. TIMP-2 is an inhibitor of all MMPs (specifically of MMP-2). Additionally, it increases fibromodulin which has an important role in organizing the ECM by binding to collagen, resulting in delay of fibril formation and the formation of thinner fibers. This active ingredient acts as a guardian for skin’s dermochronology, repairing dermal solar scars redefining the past.

On the other hand, LipoTrue present Echioseb™, an ingredient obtained from Echinacea purpurea, and the stem cells from Rhodiola rosea from Greenology technology. Adaptability is a critical quality for the survival of plants in hostile conditions. Echinacea purpurea is a drought tolerant plant, that has developed mechanisms to reduce water loss (e.g. partially opening stomata) and increase its absorption, allowing it to survive during fluctuations in precipitations in the North American prairies.

In comparison, there are plants that not only adapt to hostile conditions, but also help other organisms cope with stressors to normalize metabolic functions. Rhodiola rosea is an adaptogen known by the Vikings for enhancing physical endurance and mental alertness.

Echioseb™  is an active ingredient that adapts and allows the skin to normalize sebum content and release, pore size, elasticity and hydration by regulating the sebum biosynthetic pathway following the steps of retinoids. Echioseb™ is the adaptogenic sebum controller that customizes its efficacy by adapting to the different needs of combination and oily skin.
