perFix™ is the latest innovation from Euromed’s Mediterranean line — a standardized persimmon fruit extract developed with sustainability and efficacy in mind. Sourced from persimmons grown in southern Spain, it is produced near the orchards using Euromed’s Pure-Hydro® Process, a water-only extraction that preserves key bioactives while minimizing environmental impact.
Rich in condensed tannins (≥5 per cent), polyphenols, and carotenoids, perFix™ targets fat metabolism and body composition through bioavailable soluble tannins. A recent randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial conducted at the Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM), Spain, and published in Foods (DOI: 10.3390/foods13244072), evaluated 71 adults (mean 31.5 ± 13.5), including 49 overweight (BMI 25–29.9 kg/m²) and 22 mildly obese (BMI 30–34.9 kg/m²) participants, 42 men and 29 women.
Subjects continued their normal diets and activity routines for 120 days, ensuring that outcomes reflected only the extract’s effects. Supplementation with perFix™ (400 mg/day) led to a mean 2.2 kg weight reduction, of which 2.1 kg corresponded to fat mass, about 90 per cent of total weight loss, while lean mass was preserved, as confirmed by DEXA and BIA analyses. The overweight group showed the most significant improvements, underscoring perFix™’s relevance as an early-stage nutritional intervention for healthy weight management.
This evidence supports the modern concept of body remodelling, the refinement of body composition by reducing fat while maintaining muscle. Significant reductions were recorded in waist (−2.4 cm), abdominal (−2.2 cm), and hip (−1.7 cm) circumferences. Men showed pronounced abdominal and waist reductions (−1.9 cm at day 60, −3.3 cm at day 120), while women achieved notable hip reductions (−2.3 cm and −3.0 cm, respectively).
Participants taking perFix™ showed increased total antioxidant capacity and reduction in TNF-α (a pro-inflammatory marker). Improvements in emotional well-being and mental health were reported by day 60. In subjects with low baseline values, fecal fat excretion increased significantly, supporting a mild pancreatic-lipase inhibition mechanism and enhanced lipid metabolism.
