Sun Chemical’s Kelly Dobos Appointed President of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists

Sun Chemical’s Kelly Dobos, Cosmetics Technical Manager for the Americas region, was appointed to the role of president for the Society of Cosmetic Chemists. She assumed the role during an awards luncheon at the 72nd Annual Scientific Meeting held in New York City.

Comprised of over 4,000 members, the Society of Cosmetic Chemists is the oldest and largest non-profit organization dedicated to education and the advancement of cosmetic science. The Society of Cosmetic Chemist’s mission is to further the interests and recognition of cosmetic scientists while maintaining the confidence of the public in the cosmetic and toiletries industry.

Dobos most recently served as vice president of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists and has been an avid volunteer for the organization for 15 years, serving various roles at the chapter and national levels as chapter chair, area director, a member of the Committee on Scientific Affairs, and a reviewer for the Journal of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists. With nearly 17 years of experience as a cosmetic chemist with expertise in skin care and makeup formulation, Dobos has worked at Sun Chemical since 2014 and holds a master’s degree of pharmaceutical science with a concentration in cosmetic science from the University of Cincinnati and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Oberlin College.
