Abstract

While convention a lhomogeneous Pd-catalysedcross coupling has been adopted for the production of variousfine chemicals and pharmaceutical ingredients, the presenceof metal impurities in the process has posed significantchallenges in terms of purification. The use of fibre-supported,homogeneous catalysts specifically aims to address this issueby minimising metal leaching without sacrificing activity, making these transformations attractive for use in commercialscale synthesis. The reactivity of these supported catalystshave been tuned by substituting different ligands on the metalgroup allowing for challenging substrates, such as arylchlorides, to be coupled.
