Abstract

Long touted for its nutritional value and health abetting compensatory characteristics, fish oil consumption is nota novel trend. Experts in traditional and alternative medicine acknowledge the redeeming characteristics of fish oil,available in liquid form, capsules and more recently as ingredients in a variety of products categories. Fish oil is replete withomega-3s, the good fat that researchers have arguably found to replenish dry skin and assuage arthritic joints. Furthermore,current research and claims of fish oil consumption illustrate how this essential fatty acid can play an essential role inregulating allergies, blood clotting, blood pressure, gastrointestinal function, heart function, inflammatory concerns such aspain and swelling, kidney function and nerve transmission, among other conditions (1).
