THE FLOW CHEMISTRY JOURNEY – PURIFICATION

MARTINA LETIZIA CONTENTE
School of Chemistry, University of Nottingham, United Kingdom

Dr. Martina L. Contente obtained her PhD in Medicinal Chemistry (Prof. Molinari, University of Milan) before joining the group of Prof. Paradisi (UCD Dublin) to work on flow chemistry in collaboration with Dr. Tamborini. She is currently a BBSRC Research Fellow at Nottingham University. In January 2018 she was awarded a prestigious Marie Curie Individual Fellowship with a flow-biocatalysis project, a collaboration between the Nottingham University and the University of Milan.

INTRODUCTION

Flow reactor technology represents one of the enabling technologies introduced in the last decade to advance the sustainability of organic synthesis and shows many advantages compared with batch methods, including increased safety, high control of reaction parameters, quick reaction optimization, possibility of automation and in-line work-up and purifications.  Indeed, flow synthesis cuts across several traditional boundar ... ...
