The paradoxon of natural hair care

Abstract

Developing certified natural shampoos is achallenge for formulators. Due to restrictions for the use ofmany conditioning agents it is difficult to find natural haircare products with good sensorial quality. Recent lab testwith different natural conditioning agents show excellentresults that allow to achieve a similar quality as knownfrom conventional products. This is expected byconsumers and will probably help to increase thepopularity of natural hair care products. The paperaddresses difficulties in the marketing of natural hair caresystems and introduces technical solutions andingredients to create better and more successfulproducts for this growing market segment.
