Christophe graduated in polymer & industrial chemistry from the University of Sciences of Bordeaux (France) and spent the last 25 years occupying various marketing & sales managerial positions in Europe at materials technology and recycling specialist Umicore, a company recognized as a pioneer in circular economy and sustainable development.

Among them, he assumed in 2012 the position of Global Segment Leader, responsible for developing and implementing the strategy to establish Umicore’s business unit Precious Metals Chemistry (PMC) as a preferred supplier of sustainable catalysts and related technologies to the life science industry.

He has been PMC’s Global Marketing Director since 2014, leading the team responsible for strengthening the image and the position of Umicore as a preferred business partner in a selection of the industries it serves.

He initiated and has been leading the ongoing digitalization of the BU’s marketing communication activities and is additionally contributing to the BU’s strategic development and coleading its innovation team.

Christophe’s fields of expertise and interest span from branding, marketing and communication, to bringing new technologies to market, through customer centricity and innovation. Christophe is a relentless advocate of a sustainable world, where we not only protect our resources and secure our future on earth, but also provide a healthy business environment and equal freedom and development chances to any human being.

Christophe is originating from Aquitaine, the native region of French philosophs Montaigne and Montesquieu who influenced his strong belief in democracy and humanism.

Very early on involved in community, charity or political activities such as the French anti-racism movement “SOS Racisme” or the political movement enabling the adoption of the French working time reduction laws (known as “Aubry’s laws”), which quickly created about 400 000 additional jobs without significant financial impact on the industry. He is currently helping young adults to better understand the industry world and to search for positions suiting their competences and personalities.

Christophe is convinced that a more caring society – putting the respect of human beings and the environment at the core of its values – is possible and will benefit to the whole mankind while saving the planet from a major ecological disaster.
That is the reason why he recently cofounded Khemia, a think and act tank acting for a more caring society, hoping it will contribute to soon make the world a better place for all.

Christophe is married and father of two young daughters who are already regularly challenging him on his actions for a sustainable future.
