UBM’s Pharma giant closes 2014 with record attendance in visitors and exhibitors

CPhI Worldwide, one of the largest Pharma events in the world, saw a rise of 12% in exhibitors and 7.5% in overseas pre-registrants

CPhI Worldwide (CPhIWW), organised by UBM Live, closes 2014 announcing its most successful event to date, with pre-audit figures estimating that more than 36,000 global Pharma executives attended the show and more than 2,500 exhibitors participating, in one of the largest and most important events for the global pharmaceutical industry – rising from 2,200 exhibitors in 2013.
CPhIWW 2014 marked 25 years of continuous growth and was held at the “Parc des Expositions”, Paris Nord Villepinte, on 7-9 October. Visitors represented 153 countries and 22 country pavilions, including China, India, USA, Brazil, and many others, resulted in a truly international event for the industry.
As a result of listening to customer feedback, a new pricing model was successfully launched to offer exhibitors the freedom to choose a stand that generates the most value from their participation at the event. The Flexible Pricing Model allows exhibitors to see the difference reflected in the price of the exhibition space according to their exact requirements, considering number of open sides, stand layout, and price options tailored to the respective budget requirements within clearly defined zones (Bronze, Silver and Gold).
CPhIWW offered its exhibitors and visitors the chance to pre-schedule meetings with potential business partners through its “Global Meetings Programme”, which is a match-making resource that allows companies to search for and arrange meetings with exhibitors and visitors prior to the show. Research opportunities and one-to-one meetings are booked accordingly to the participants’ business objectives and goals.
The Pre-Connect conferences attract more attendees year after year, reaching this year more than 570 delegates. More than 350 paying delegates registered to attend the Pharma Insight Briefings, a very popular initiative focusing on Africa & Brazil current economic situation, the Marketing & Business Development Professionals Networking, and the Contract Manufacturing Professionals Update.
The overall approach of harnessing its status as the global meeting place for pharma and life sciences, is ensuring its customers now not only look at the event as a means of networking and prospecting new business, but also as a barometer of the industry and for market insights and trends. Beyond conventional media, CPhI has nurtured a unique digital presence, especially on Twitter (@cphiww), reaching over 2 million accounts throughout the 3-day event.
