NEW NORMAL

Most people began 2020 as usual. Not far into the new year though, a new virus called SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) struck. Before we could grasp its details, on March 11, the World Health Organization declared the coronavirus outbreak a pandemic, the highest possible level of disease with worldwide spread. To combat the sudden spread of the virus, lockdowns hit all around the world. The crisis stretched the capabilities of many countries beyond their limits. Hospitals were overrun and grocery stores were short on supplies with many sectors such as retail, hospitality and transportation having to close or drastically reduce operations. The global economy and exchanges were damaged.

The lives and livelihoods of many people across the world have been significantly and sometimes tragically impacted. The post-pandemic world will never be the same. We did a quantum leap into a “new normal”.
