In memory of Peter Pollak
a few weeks ago, we were all in Barcelona and I recall that everybody was often talking about you, thinking of you with great affection.
It has been a true pleasure to know you and share with you so many beautiful, special moments, both in our jobs and our private lives.
It has been an honour to have you as a friend, to have your esteem and to work with you. It is hard to believe that you are no longer with us, that I can’t ask for your friendly advice, while we sit sipping a glass of Campari soda, as we liked to do.
I still remember our first motorcycle trip together, to Sardinia in 1991, the year we met for the first time.
I recall thinking then how lucky I was to have a passion in common with such an icon of our industry, the man who had led Lonza to be a leading organisation in chemistry applied to pharmaceutical business, who had built Lonza’s Fine Chemicals and Custom manufacturing business from scratch and led it to a global success.
