Abstract

Plastics are mainly created from refi ned crude oil. Crudeoil is a natural non-renewable resource that cannot bereplaced. So, when crude oil is used to manufactureplastics, vast amount of natural resource is lost. Plasticsare used in almost every aspect of our lives. Somemethods have been developed including thermaldegradation, where the waste plastics are melted at acertain temperature to produce liquid hydrocarbon fuel. This hydrocarbon fuel’s carbon chain ranges from C3 toC27. This indicates the fuel can be fractionalized furtherto produce various types of fuels. Instrumental tests haveshown that the produced fuel has a considerate amountof energy value.
