INTRODUCTION

Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR): Unclassifiable biocides uses in the automotive sector is a article based on the findings made by the most important world car manufacturers linked together in a task force.

The scope of the European Automotive Task Force is to find out which are the uses of biocides in the automotive sector and which are the uses that are not covered by the BPR 22 product types (PT).

Regulation (EU) No 528/20121, the so called BPR or Biocidal Products Regulation, came into force on  September 1st 2013 on all the EU countries plus the European Economic Area2 (EEA) countries and according to National Authorities, Industry associations and manufacturers, suppliers and importers there are nearly 40.000 different BPs (Biocidal Products) on the market in the EU.

The 2012 BPR replaces the old Biocidal Products Directive 98/8/EC3 (BPD), and includes different transitional measures to enable continued supply of BPs on the markets.

The new BPR creates also new EU rules for:
