CPHI WORLDWIDE EVENT PREVIEW 2015

The city of Madrid once again welcomes the world’s pharma community October 13-15th 2015, as CPhI Worldwide opens at the IFEMA (Feria de Madrid, Spain). This huge pharmaceutical event is indisputably the world’s largest and most influential, with over 36,000 visitors and 2,500 exhibitors expected from 150 countries. On behalf of UBM EMEA, I look forward to welcoming you to CPhI Worldwide 2015 and thank all of our partners for making this the best, most informative, and essential pharma event in the global calendar.

Chris Kilbee, Group Director Pharma, UBM EMEA

Event Overview

CPhI Worldwide 2015 will feature more than 20 dedicated zones covering ingredients, APIs, excipients, finished dosage, contract services, packaging, biopharm, machinery and many more. Running alongside the pharmaceutical ingredients halls are three other sister brands, which help visitors to quickly identify the right halls for their needs.

  • ICSE is an outsourcing focussed area designed to connect the pharmaceutical community with contract providers from clinical trials, CROs, logistics providers, data management firms and CMOs
  • InnoPack brings together buyers and specifiers from the packaging and pharmaceutical industries
  • P-MEC Europe features exhibitors from traditional large-scale capital equipment to companies focussed on instrumental analysis, measuring and testing technologies, materials testing, quality control and laboratory

The CPhI Pre-Connect Congress (October 12th) is a must attend for networking and information on the pharma sector, with senior executives and influential speakers discussing the latest innovations, trends and market developments from across the industry.

Additionally, the show sees the return of the revamped CPhI Pharma Awards (with five categories) and free sessions in Speaker’s Corner – which provide exhibitors with a forum to deliver first-hand presentations to senior pharma attendees from across the globe. Finally, new for this year, is the CPhI Pharma Forum – a dedicated content village – which will provide a central hub to examine thought leadership from media partners and the CPhI Pharma Insights Reports. The Pharma Forum will also be the location for the exhibitor and visitor party, and will include exhibitor Innovation Galleries, the CPhI Pharma Awards and the Pharma Insight Innovation Briefings – offering impartial, in-depth sessions on regional updates and specialist topics covering regulation, QC, traceability, sustainability and health to name but a few.

LEADING FIGURES FROM DRUG DISCOVERY AND LIFE SCIENCES TO GATHER FOR BASEL LIFE SCIENCE WEEK – MIPTEC 2015

IN BASEL

BLSW – MipTec is Europe’s largest conference on drug discovery and draws 3,000 participants from over 50 countries each year. The event takes place at the Congress Center Basel (Switzerland) from 21–24 September 2015 and offers a high-calibre program.

This autumn, the scientific elite in pharmaceutical research will again come together in Basel, as they have done annually for over twelve years. The event has grown from its origins as a specialist conference for laboratory automation into a leading global conference in the life sciences sector. By offering a broad and diverse, but also deeply scientific conference program, the conference plays a vital role in helping pharma and biotech scientists successfully attack the significant challenges in modern-day drug research and development work.

The exchange of the latest scientific findings and technological innovations, as well as the improving integration of science and technology will be at the center of this four-day conference. For the organizers, it is especially important to create an interactive platform for researchers working in the life sciences, who would otherwise rarely meet.

The programme

The 2015 science programme will have multiple streams with leading science experts covering advances in Aging, Cell signaling, Medicinal chemistry, Synergy of combination drug therapies, Next Generation Sequencing applications, Information management, Stem cells, Peptide therapies, GPCRs and Translational Medicine. Furthermore, delegates will have the opportunity to discuss strategic and business oriented issues and learn more career options in many of the exceptional satellite focused sessions.

CPHI CHINA & P-MEC POST SHOW

CPhI & P-MEC hosted by UBM EMEA and CCCMHPIE, and co-organised by UBM Sinoexpo held its most successful event yet at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) 24-26 June 2015.

This year marked a decade in partnership between CPhI & P-MEC, with CPhI China itself celebrating its 15th anniversary. The conference delivered record numbers in both event scale and attendance, providing the 2,668 domestic and overseas exhibitors with 150,000 square metres of exhibition space to interact with over 64,000 attendees. Together with the concurrent event, Fi Asia China (FiAC), the three-day conference focused on key topics facing the pharmaceutical industry.

In this record-breaking year, CPhI & P-MEC China hosted over 70 onsite conferences and activities, covering numerous pressing topics ranging from contract services to environmental protection and clean technology, with particular highlights including the extremely successful Packaging Conferences, which contained international participants such as Nemera, or the PPD innovations presentations. Additionally, branding forums such as ‘CPhI, ICSE, & P-MEC China Innovation & Development Forum’ and ‘CPhI International Agencies Updates and Q&A Session’ retained their high interest and popularity in attendance.

One main take away from this year’s event was the connection between CPhI and the Chinese pharmaceutical industry and the important role they have played in each other’s rapid development. Each passing year has brought tremendous growth to CPhI & P-MEC China and has led it to become one of the pharmaceutical industry’s must-attend events. The past 15 years have brought concurrent progress to the event and wider industry and UBM EMEA will continue to uphold the trust of the industry to go forward for the next 15 years with immutable enthusiasm.
