Over the last two years there has been a greater proportion of consumers who state that they have put on weight. This is down to consumers across the globe indulging in higher levels of comfort eating and reduced level of activity due to the pandemic. These attitudes are leading to a number of consumers to address their waistlines as they look to adopt a diet in order to lose weight. Obesity is still seen as one of the key health concerns for consumers across the globe, with consumers recognizing health complications associated with excessive waistlines. These concerns have become even more worrying to consumers as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic. FMCG Gurus research highlights that 37% of global consumer state that they have become more conscious about their weight, with 40% stating they plan to try and lose weight once the pandemic is over.
