The new Clariant is taking shape. After years of transforming its portfolio, the company has built a solid base for profitable growth. Two main strategic priorities – research and development – underpin Clariant’s focus on value creation through innovation and sustainability.
Just to provide an example, this year the In-cosmetics show - the reference event for the cosmetics and personal care business sector - has devoted aconsiderable space to Brazil, one of the world’s most vibrant markets where Clariant has always been present with its research activities, which represent a reference for its field.

At the In-cosmetics show in Hamburg we met Vaios Barlas. Born in Greece in 1967, MBA from Henley Business School London, MSc in Bioreactor Design (Biotechnology) from UMIST, Manchester, UK, and BSc / MSc Degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University in Athens, Vaios Barlas has a long history at Clariant and Hoechst AG, where he began his career in 1993.
